Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lamber Lead CMT Awards Nominations

Carrie UnderwoodCarrie Underwood leads nominations for the Country Music Television (CMT) Music Awards 2012. The former American Idol winner has five nods at the 2012 CMT Awards, including Female Artist of the Year and Video of The Year for "Good Girl."

Miranda Lambert follows with four nods, two in the Video of the Year and Female Video of the Year categories for her single "Over You" and two with her band, Pistol Annies who are up for Group Video and "USA Weekend" Breakthrough Video.

Blake Shelton, Taylor Swift, The Civil Wars and Lady Antebellum all received three nominations.

Ten artists are currently nominated in the night's biggest category, "Video of the Year," but the number will be narrowed down to five during the awards show, which will be broadcast live from Nashville on June 6. The 11th annual ceremony will also stream live on the channel's website, CMT.com, where fans can also vote up until June 4.

Girls Rule at Country Music Awards

Miranda Lambert, Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift, 21, earned the Entertainer of the Year title at the Academy of Country Music Awards, an awards show that became a girls’ night when Miranda Lambert took home four awards of her own. Swift gave Lambert a hug before she made her way to the stage to accept the night’s big award.

“I’m just losing my mind,” she said of the win. “The fact that this is from the fans makes it so special.”

Lambert lost the Entertainer of the Year title, but she was the biggest winner of the night. She won an award for best song, single record and video of the year for “The House That Built Me.” She was also named as top female vocalist for the second year in a row.

CMAs Hit Repeat: Underwood, Paisley to Host Again

Brad Paisley and Carrie UnderwoodMTV may have decided against using Russell Brand as a three-time host, but the Country Music Association has no problem with three-peats.

On November 10, country music lovers will see llinCarrie Underwood and Brad Paisley center stage at the CMAs once again. The two have been a hosting team at the annual event for the past two years.

“Carrie and Brad have done a tremendous job hosting, and we are very happy to have them back again this year,” Steve Moore, CMA’s Chief Executive Officer, explained about the decision. “They have developed a natural rhythm and have a great rapport with the audience - both in the house and with our fans watching at home. They each have a great sense of humor and timing, which are two essential ingredients for hosting a live awards broadcast.”

The 44th Annual CMA Awards will air live from 8:00-11:00 p.m. ET on ABC.

Carrie Underwood’s Historic Win at ACMs

Carrie Underwood has just been named Entertainer of the Year at the Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards.

The singer made history at the Las Vegas ceremony last night after becoming the first woman to win the prestigious accolade twice, beating off competition from , Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban and the Zac Brown Band.

Upon accepting the honor, Carrie - who was also given a special Triple Crown award in recognition of her scooping Entertainer of the Year, Top Female Vocalist and Top Newcomer in the course of her career - said: “I think I just got make-up all over ... Thank you, God, praise the Lord.”

Trio Lady Antebellum were the big winners at the ceremony, held at the MGM Grand hotel, taking home five prizes, including Song of the Year and Single Record of the Year for their hit “Need You Now” - with both categories giving them two prizes as they also wrote the track.

Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood face off

Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood and are going head-to-head in this year’s Country Music Television (CMT) Music Awards nominations. Underwood’s “Cowboy Cassanova” is up for both Video of the Year and Female Video of the Year in the award show’s preliminary round of voting - both categories Swift’s “You Belong With Me” is also nominated in. Swift picked up the awards in both categories in both 2008 and 2009 for “Our Song” and “Love Story” respectively.

Janet Jackson to Open the American Music Awards

Janet Jackson is set to open the upcoming American Music Awards (AMAs).

The “All For You” hitmaker will sing a medley to start the November 22 ceremony, which sees her late brother nominated in five categories.

“We’re thrilled about having Janet Jackson open this year’s show,” American Music Awards producer Larry Klein said. “She is an incredibly dynamic performer and I think the audience will be excited to see what she has in store.”

This will be the fourth AMAs performance for the Janet, who has won nine of the awards in previous years, and follows her moving tribute to her brother at the in September. On November 18, Jackson will also be featured in a primetime interview with ABC’s Robin Roberts.

Other stars to perform at this year’s AMAs at Los Angeles’ Nokia Theatre include , Eminem, Jay-Z, Shakira, Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Green Day, Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood.

Underwood, Paisley Return as CMA Hosts

Brad Paisley and Carrie UnderwoodIf it feels like 2009 is a rehash of 2008, there might be reason. First, Russell Brand is asked to host the VMAs for the second time. Now, and Brad Paisley are being given return gigs.

Last year’s Male and Female Vocalists of the Year will once again front the CMAs during the broadcast this fall. Combined, the two country stars have already racked up a total of 16 award from “Country Music’s Biggest Night.”

“I am thrilled to get the chance to co-host the CMAs for a second time with my pal, Carrie,” Paisley said. “This year we’ll pull out all the stops, like a miniature poodle balancing act, tightrope walking, and a new world record for the number of costume changes by my co-host. Don’t miss it!”

The 43rd Annual CMA Awards will air live November 11 on ABC.

Chris Brown working on country music for next album

Chris Brown country song is currently recording a country song. The 20-year-old Brown, who has pleaded not guilty to assaulting on/off girlfriend in February, is believed to be working on a new track called ‘Trapped in a Dream’ which may be included on his next album.

Chris’ producer Robert Allen said: “Maybe we’ll see an appearance from country star Carrie Underwood or someone like that. It’s that kind of song. It’s just feeling like you don’t want that dream to go away. Everybody has a dream and you’re in it, but you wake up and you’re like, ‘Oh, my God.’ You feel like you’re still in that dream.”
